God’s Deep Secret for Your Heart

1 Corinthians 2:9,10 No one has ever seen, no one has ever heard, no one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. God has shown us these things through the Spirit. The Spirit knows all things. The Spirit even knows the deep secrets of God.

You know how it is. The daily grind grinds away at you – day after day after day. You feel dry. You feel empty. You start asking yourself what it’s all about and why you keep doing what you’re doing. You know how it is.

The average life expectancy for both sexes in the world today is 73.2 years. That’s 26,736 days, 7 hours, 12 minutes. And whilst what we do does change throughout the course of our lives – from childhood, through our teenage years, adulthood and in old age – we go for long stretches doing the same thing over and over again, which is why that daily grind is the reality of our human existence.

It was around 5 am on a Tuesday morning as I was preparing today’s Fresh devotional. I’d been going since just before 3 am … and if you had a camera in my study, you’d see Berni sitting in the same chair, at the same desk, pecking away at that same keyboard, day after day after day.

So it doesn’t matter what you’re called to do – that sameness, that grind, can take its toll. Which is why today, I believe with all my heart that the Spirit of God wants to breathe a word of encouragement, of life, of joy, into your heart.

1 Corinthians 2:9,10 No one has ever seen, no one has ever heard, no one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. God has shown us these things through the Spirit. The Spirit knows all things. The Spirit even knows the deep secrets of God.

So just let the Holy Spirit write that deep secret on your heart today.

No one has ever seen, no one has ever heard, no one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.

That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
