God’s Timing is Always Perfect
Habakkuk 2:3 This message is about a special time in the future. This message is about the end, and it will come true. Just be patient and wait for it. That time will come; it will not be late.
Have you ever found yourself hard-pressed – between a rock and a hard place, as some people would say – waiting on a breakthrough … waiting, waiting, waiting? Will that breakthrough break through in time, or will everything fall apart? I’m sure you’ve been there more than once, as have I. And when things are teetering on the brink, it can seriously make you question God’s timing.
In August 1776, during the American Revolution, George Washington’s Continental Army was cornered by the British in Brooklyn. Facing imminent defeat, Washington planned a daring nighttime retreat across the East River.
Remarkably, a sudden storm delayed the British navy, and the next morning a dense fog concealed the army’s movements. Every soldier and piece of equipment safely crossed to Manhattan before the British discovered the empty camp.
That miraculous timing allowed the Revolution to continue, ultimately leading to American independence. God’s perfect timing changed the course of history.
I’m sure Washington would rather that he hadn’t been cornered, that he hadn’t been facing certain defeat. And it’s the same for us when we’re hard pressed.
But during a time of profound turmoil and upheaval in Israel’s history, God said this to them:
Habakkuk 2:3 This message is about a special time in the future. This message is about the end, and it will come true. Just be patient and wait for it. That time will come; it will not be late.
No matter how precarious things seem, how much pressure you’re under, how much you need God to show up right now, remember … His timing is always better than yours.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
