How to Change the World
Micah 6:8 He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (NRSV)

If you could change the world, what would you change? Personally, I’d like to see an end to all wars, to people being enslaved, exploited, abused. And everybody having access to life’s basics – clean water, a roof over their heads and safety. That’d be a pretty good start, don’t you think?
The problem is, though, that you and I can’t change the world … or can we? Well, most of us don’t have the power to influence things on a macro scale, at a national or international level, but what about on a micro scale, in our own little neck of the woods? What can you and I do closer to home?
Yesterday we chatted about all those people out there who’re behaving badly and we concluded that unless Jesus touches their lives, it’s highly unlikely that they’re going to change. Certainly, trying to shove our beliefs, our morals, down their throats ain’t going to work.
So … what, if anything, will? How might we cooperate with God as He begins to move in their lives?

German WWII pastor and martyr, Dietrich Bonhoeffer once said that our lives as Christians should make non-believers question their disbelief in God.
I can’t think of any better form of cooperation than allowing God’s goodness to shine out through us. What opportunities do you have to do good to those around you?
Do justice, love kindness, walk humbly with your God.
That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
