Imperfect People
Matthew 7:3-5 Why do you notice the small piece of dust that is in your friend’s eye, but you don’t notice the big piece of wood that is in your own? Why do you say to your friend, ‘Let me take that piece of dust out of your eye’? Look at yourself first! You still have that big piece of wood in your own eye. You are a hypocrite! First, take the wood out of your own eye. Then you will see clearly to get the dust out of your friend’s eye.
So here’s an uncomfortable question. Who, in your family, annoys you the most? Told you! Come on! Is it your husband or wife, one of the kids, a parent, an in-law? Which one bugs you the most?
Yep, you can pick your friends but you can’t pick your relatives. And whilst some cultures do family much better than others, the more affluent and individualistic we become, the more some family members get on our nerves.
What ensues in many cases is a family split. Parents, children, siblings, in-laws, don’t talk to each other for years. Let’s get a revelation here! That’s not what God had in mind! So how do you set about fixing that? How do you become an instrument in His hands to bring healing to your family? Enter … Jesus:

Is it time to get down off your high horse and admit that you may have had a part to play in your family’s troubles? And is it time to accept responsibility for your part?
Look, God loves your family. He wants to heal your family. Let it begin with you.
