In Your Darkest Hour
John 14:27 I leave you peace. It is my own peace I give you. I give you peace in a different way than the world does. So don’t be troubled. Don’t be afraid.
Darkness descends on our lives from time to time. It just does. And with it comes fear. Fear of how things will turn out. And that fear churns around and around inside, dragging us further down into that black hole.
So here He is, Jesus is about to be arrested and crucified. His disciples are petrified, not only for Him, but probably even more so for themselves.
Hey, they’ve seen Roman crucifixions before. Terrible stuff! And if there’s a plot to get Jesus, then there’s every chance that they’re next. So they are scared! I mean, really, really scared.
Now, imagine for a moment that you’re Jesus. What do you say to them? Remember, you know that you’re about to be nailed to a cross. You yourself are afraid and grieving beyond words. Those are not what you’d call happy thoughts.
If I’d been Jesus, I wonder whether I wouldn’t have implored my inner circle of friends to stick with me through thick and thin, or perhaps to help get me out of there. Are you with me?
Jesus, on the other hand, blessed them, and gave them something more precious than gold in that darkest of hours.
John 14:27 I leave you peace. It is my own peace I give you. I give you peace in a different way than the world does. So don’t be troubled. Don’t be afraid.
He gave them His peace. What a gift, in that deathly dark hour.
Not just any peace. His peace. And that peace … that peace is still available to you, today, even in your darkest hour.
I leave you peace. It is my own peace I give you. I give you peace in a different way than the world does. So don’t be troubled. Don’t be afraid.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

I needed this today. I have just relocated back to the city where I grew up so that I will be with family and friends as we all grow in the Lord together. Satan has tried to shake my faith, but HE cannot! The Joy of the Lord is my strength.. 4 of my 6 nieces and nephews that live here are having serious health and other problems. Satan is busy. Monday after traveling to a major hospital about 90 miles from our home, and taking care of some business, I sat down to relax and my nose’s started to bleed profusely and my blood pressure went up. No dizziness and no pain! the nose bleed continued for more than 30 minutes. I called my neighbor, who came immediately and brought her blood pressure cuff. She saw the blood continuing to flow profusely and decided we should go immediately to the hospital. We were seen immediately in the ER., where my nose continued to bleed profusely . The ER physician could not stop the bleeding with medication sprays. He finally decided to put packing in my left nostril and sent me home to return today for the packing to be removed. I am believing the Lord for complete healing. I have not had a nose bleed in more than 60 years. I have no health problems at 80 years of age. So know satan is busy. he is a liar. God will see me through this storm of life. Appreciate your prayers for all the changes in my life and those of family and friends.
