Look Up and See
Philippians 3:20 our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. (ESV)
So, what are the things that you really enjoy doing? Your hobbies, your pastimes, the things that bring you delight? It’s fun just to think about them. But to what extent have they become distractions?
Well, that’s a bit of a dampener, isn’t it? There you were filled with pleasant emotions thinking about the things you like doing, and … boom. I have to ruin it with that inconvenient question about the good things in your life drawing you away from the best thing, the most important thing, the one thing that at the end of your life on this earth will be the only thing that’ll matter.
Perhaps you’re thinking, “Hang on a minute, didn’t we talk about this in yesterday’s message?” Yes, we did. But there’s more. There’s the reality that the things unseen are far greater than the things that are seen, for …

Friend if you believe in Jesus, then you’re merely an interloper here on this earth. Your true home is with Him, as is mine, and we have every right to be waiting with great anticipation for the day when either He returns, or we go home to Him.
How easy it is to become so caught up in the things of this world, with all the pleasures and pressures, only to miss the most important thing of all. Look up and see!
