Now Get On With It …

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

I think we’ve all been in that place where we’ve thought to ourselves, “Well, I’m nothing special. I don’t have any particular skills that make me stand out from the crowd. I’m pretty sure my life will never amount to much.” Been there, done that, got the t-shirt!

Srinivasa Ramanujan was born into humble circumstances in India in 1887. His father was a clerk in a sari shop, his mother kept house. Yet as a self-taught mathematician, he astonished the academic world with his profound contributions to highly specialised mathematical theory. Despite having no formal training, he independently discovered complex theorems, many of which were later proven correct by experts.

Srinivasa’s innate brilliance caught the attention of British mathematician G.H. Hardy, leading to groundbreaking collaborations earning him recognition as one of history’s greatest mathematical minds. Who’d have thought?

Second chances in life are rare, and yet a second chance at life is precisely what God grants anyone who’s put their trust in Jesus.

Perhaps you or I will never be one of the greatest at anything in history, but surely we have to do something with that. Surely God has a plan to work for good through the unique gifts and abilities He’s given us!

So however He made you, whatever your unique “thing” is, even if no one else gets it … remember, you’re His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works which He prepared beforehand for you to do. Get on with it!

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
