Overcoming Financial Stress (2)
Proverbs 21:5 Careful planning leads to profit. Acting too quickly leads to poverty.
Headline after headline is telling us that financial pressures are tearing lives apart. And the more we hear about the financial crisis, the more pressured we feel.
I saw another headline the other day: āOrdinary Workers Canāt Afford Their Rent.ā The article talked about the fact that even teachers, police officers, nurses ā these professionals who whilst not wealthy, earn more than most ā are being forcing into second and third jobs just to get by.
So imagine how much the unemployed, those on a small pensions perhaps, are struggling. Thereās no discounting that reality and please understand that what Iām about to share isnāt meant to diminish the very real struggle that so many are facing.
But wherever people sit on the financial spectrum, the reality is that very few have thought through their finances to the point of putting together even a simple budget and sticking to it. And in these tough financial times, nothing could be more important.
Proverbs 21:5 Careful planning leads to profit. Acting too quickly leads to poverty.
Friend, your finances need to be thought through, especially when moneyās scarce. It begins with simple budgeting. And on top of that, larger financial decisions need to be thought through.
A new car doesnāt just involve the up front cost. What about repayments, petrol, insurance, registration ⦠planning that purchase means asking, can I afford all those things?
I know it sounds basic. But if you havenāt already started, do something about it. Because ⦠careful planning leads to profit. Acting too quickly leads to poverty.
Thatās Godās Word. Fresh ⦠for you ⦠today.
