Pray for Us

2 Thessalonians 3:1,2 And now, brothers and sisters, pray for us. Pray that the Lord’s teaching will continue to spread quickly. And pray that people will give honour to that teaching, the same as happened with you. And pray that we will be protected from crooked and evil people. Not everyone believes in the Lord, you know.

So here’s a useless piece of information: today, this is the two-thousand-one-hundred-and-forty-sixth Fresh devotional that we here at the ministry of Christianityworks have produced for you. As I said, a useless piece of information.

So why am I sharing that with you? It’s not as though 2,146 is any kind of round number or milestone.

Well, whether you watch Fresh on TV, listen on the radio in any one of a dozen languages, read it in printed form or as it arrives in your email inbox, or via WhatsApp or the many other digital channels on which it’s available, I wonder if you’ve ever stopped to think about what’s involved in producing a daily devotion.

There’s the preparation and writing of course, plus translations, proof-reading, recording and producing the audios, shooting and producing the TV programs, distributing them to stations, uploading them to servers, choosing images for the digital versions, designing print layouts … it’s crazy, right?

But, like anything worthwhile, it takes quite some effort by a small but dedicated team. So today I’d like to ask you for a favour:

2 Thessalonians 3:1,2 And now, brothers and sisters, pray for us. Pray that the Lord’s teaching will continue to spread quickly. And pray that people will give honour to that teaching, the same as happened with you. And pray that we will be protected from crooked and evil people.

The more people with whom we can share God’s Word through Fresh, the more lives will be transformed. And yes, in some places it’s dangerous work.

So now, brothers and sisters, pray for us. Pray that the Lord’s teaching will continue to spread quickly. And pray that we will be protected from crooked and evil people.

That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
