Realising Your Full Potential

Mark 6:7-8,12-13 Jesus called his twelve apostles together. He sent them out in groups of two and gave them power over evil spirits. This is what he told them: “Take nothing for your trip except a stick for walking. Take no bread, no bag, and no money … The apostles left and went to other places. They talked to the people and told them to change their hearts and lives. They forced many demons out of people and put olive oil on many who were sick and healed them.

I wonder… right in this moment, what do you perceive, what do you feel, is lacking in your life? Do you need more money to make ends meet? Are you time-poor, as so many of us are? Do you need a friend, someone to lean on a little, or maybe just a bit of encouragement? Come on, what’s missing in your life ? What is it that you need?

There always seems to be something, doesn’t there? And the thing that makes it worse is that the longer that need goes unmet, the deeper it bites and the more convinced we become that it’ll never be met. We’ll never get what we need. It’s a downward spiral.

Yesterday we saw how Jesus sent his disciples out two-by-two with nothing – absolutely nothing – of what they’d need for their journey.

Mark 6:7-8 Jesus called his twelve apostles together. He sent them out in groups of two and gave them power over evil spirits. This is what he told them: “Take nothing for your trip except a stick for walking. Take no bread, no bag, and no money. You can wear sandals, but don’t take extra clothes.

Apparently though, He thought it was more than enough because He sent them out with His power and authority. Well, was it enough? How did things turn out?

Mark 6:12-13 The apostles left and went to other places. They talked to the people and told them to change their hearts and lives. They forced many demons out of people and put olive oil on many who were sick and healed them.

Don’t fret over the things you don’t have. Jesus’ power is always … way more than enough.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
