So Amazing
Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Isn’t it just the most amazing thing when someone shows you some unexpected kindness; when out of the blue they just do something for you that you didn’t expect? But it gets even better.
So what can possibly be better than an unexpected kindness? Well, I’ll tell you. It’s when someone hangs in there with you through thick and thin, when they never, ever give up on you, no matter what.
That’s what marriage is supposed to be like. Yet sadly, too often these days, husband and wife give up on each other – either living out an uneasy détente or walking away from one another completely.
It’s the same with friendships. You may have known someone for years, even counted them as a friend. And yet how easy is it, when they annoy you, to start “ghosting” them; to stop taking their calls; to stop making time to catch up?
That’s why the through-thick-and-thin faithfulness of God is so utterly amazing in these times in which we live:
Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (ESV)
God will never give up on you. He’ll never walk away, never stop taking your calls. Not only is He good and merciful but His goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life – even when the storm clouds roll in; even when you fail Him.
And even more than that, when you put your trust completely in Jesus His Son … you will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amazing!
