Stop and Be Still

Psalm 46:10 God says, “Stop fighting and know that I am God! I am the one who defeats the nations; I am the one who controls the world.”

Conflict is something that we’d all rather avoid. And yet sometimes our own approach to dealing with it – our own thoughts, words and actions –  end up fuelling the very conflict that we sought to avoid.

So, what unwinnable battle are you fighting at the moment? What conflict is tearing you apart? And at what point did you decide that it’s all up to you; that you have to win at all costs by figuring it all out in your own strength?

If you’re a man or a woman of faith, then you have to ask yourself who it is in whom you’ve placed your faith. and whether in the midst of this struggle against these overwhelming odds you truly believe in Him.

So, speaking directly into your battle – you know, the one you’re struggling with in your own strength to overcome …

Psalm 46:10 God says, “Stop fighting and know that I am God! I am the one who defeats the nations; I am the one who controls the world.”

A more literal translation would go something like this: Be still and know that I am God. There’s something about stopping and withdrawing from the heat of the battle and just being still, remembering and knowing deep down in your soul who it is in whom you’ve placed your faith. He’s the One who defeats the nations; the One, in fact, who controls everything.

Be still. Remember. Know.

I am the one who defeats the nations; I am the one who controls the world.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
