The Lord is Faithful

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful. He will give you strength and protect you from the Evil One.

It’s easy to take things for granted. Take for instance your five senses – sight, sound, smell, touch and taste. Imagine if you lost one of those. Hey, imagine if you lost two of those – let’s say, sight and sound. All of a sudden, you’re blind and deaf. What would your life be like then?

Helen Keller was born on June 27, 1880, in Tuscumbia, Alabama. At 19 months old, she contracted an illness that left her both deaf and blind. But with the help of her dedicated teacher, Anne Sullivan, Helen learned to communicate using sign language and later, to read and write.

She eventually graduated from Radcliffe College in 1904, becoming the first deaf-blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. Helen went on to become a renowned author, activist and lecturer, advocating for people with disabilities and social causes like women’s suffrage and labour rights.

Amazing, yeah? But without Anne Sullivan, without her dedication to Helen, her sacrifices, her faithfulness … none of that would ever have been possible. You don’t see that sort of thing very often these days, do you?

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful. He will give you strength and protect you from the Evil One.

Listen, as amazing as Anne Sullivan was, the faithfulness of God toward you is way beyond anything that any human being ever can or will do for you. He proved that, up on that Cross when He gave His life for you.

He loves you. He’s prepared the way for you. He’s with you every step of the way.

Because God is faithful. He will give you strength. He will protect you from the Evil One.

That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
