The Mistakes Men Make (1)
1 Peter 3:7 … you husbands should live with your wives in an understanding way, since they are weaker than you. You should show them respect, because God gives them the same blessing he gives you—the grace of true life. Do this so that nothing will stop your prayers from being heard.
Honestly … a man, when it comes to his family, can be such an oaf. Seriously! We somehow never stop to think what our families truly need from us, so we keep repeating the same mistakes over and again.
The top mistake that men make – and it’s one that I’ve made all too often – is disrespecting their wives. God’s plan for our families is that they be built on a rock-solid yet tender oneness between husband and wife.
It’s a oneness that’s fractured every time we men – listen up, guys – demonstrate a lack of respect for the one person on this planet who should be our absolute number one.

The eternal struggle for any husband is to understand his wife fully – I think that’s pretty much a life-long journey of discovery. That being said, husbands, we’re called to live with our wives in an understanding way because they are, after all, very different to us.
Yep sure, she’s physically weaker, yet it’s in that very context that God commands husbands to show their wives respect. No harsh words. No undermining her in front of others. Absolutely no physical violence. None of that!
And so seriously does God take this command that if we disobey Him, He’ll stop listening to our prayers.
Husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way and show them respect!
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
