The Mouth Tells All

Proverbs 10:19-21 A person who talks too much gets into trouble. A wise person learns to be quiet. Words from good people are like pure silver, but thoughts from the wicked are worthless. Good people say things that help others, but the wicked die from a lack of understanding.

Words are powerful things, because the things a person says, are a window into their heart. That’s why it pays to listen carefully to what people say when they speak.

The good news is that there are plenty of good people out there. People who mean to do you good rather than to do you harm. But sadly, there are a few bad ones too. They’re like snakes in the grass, waiting for just the right moment, to pounce when we least expect it.

So how do you tell the difference between the good ones and the bad ones; between the genuine person you can trust, and the one lying in wait, ready to pounce and do you harm? It’s not easy, because that bad person is concealing their true intentions.

How can you know? Well, King Solomon told his sons to listen carefully to what people say.

Proverbs 10:19-21 A person who talks too much gets into trouble. A wise person learns to be quiet. Words from good people are like pure silver, but thoughts from the wicked are worthless. Good people say things that help others, but the wicked die from a lack of understanding.

That’s great advice. People who talk too much, always boasting about how good they are, they’re the ones to watch out for. Those who gossip behind other people’s backs, are dangerous, because if they gossip about others, then they’re sure to be gossiping about you as well.

On the other hand, good people say things that help others, things that encourage and build others up. Their words are pure, they ring true.

A person’s words are a window into their soul. Listen carefully to what people say, because ultimately the mouth tells all. Ultimately the wicked person’s words will betray their intentions.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Thank you and God bless you for your timely and needed biblical advice. God knows what we need at all times doesn’t He. I am in conflict with my 18 year old grand daughter at the moment and I sure needed today’s message on the Mouth tells all. I so need the Lord’s help and guidance in dealing with my grand daughter. God bless you Berni.
