The Riches of God
Romans 11:32,33 … [he] consigned us all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all. (ESV)
There’s something that happens to you when the glory of God fills your heart. There’s something powerfully life-changing that happens when you’re able to bask in the light of His love for you.
All too often we find ourselves pedalling hard, head down, doing all the stuff that living our lives involves, often under pressure, often under duress, just managing to get by. And that’s the petrie dish in which our sin festers and multiplies like a dangerous virus ready to rob us of life.
Yesterday we saw that God’s love is so great that …
Romans 11:32 … [he] consigned us all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all. (ESV)
He deliberately set things up so that we’d be incapable of living a sinless life in our own strength. He deliberately consigned us all to disobedience, so that we could experience the magnitude of His love as He shows us mercy through Jesus who died to pay for our sin.
Stop. Let that sink in. Let that cause you to lift your head for just a moment and gaze upon heavenly things. Allow God to fill your heart with His glory as you bask in the light of His love for you.
Romans 11:33Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! (ESV)
Friend, this is what God wants for you; to plumb the depths of His riches, of His wisdom, of truly knowing Him. That’s why Jesus came. He came for you. That’s what Christmas is all about.
How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
