True Strength
Ephesians 3:16-17 I ask the Father with his great glory to give you the power to be strong in your spirits. He will give you that strength through his Spirit. I pray that Christ will live in your hearts because of your faith. I pray that your life will be strong in love and be built on love.
So, on a scale of zero to ten, how strong, how robust do you feel? The answer likely depends on your natural makeup, your personality type if you will, and the circumstances you find yourself in right now.
If you’re a naturally stronger individual, as am I (which by the way, has as many downsides as it has upsides) or if everything’s going well in your life, then it’s pretty easy to give yourself a seven, eight … even a nine.
If you’re a gentler, more empathetic person, in tune with your own emotions and those of others, then it’s easier to feel bruised, damaged, even hopeless.
But if there’s anything that life’s taught me, it’s that no matter how strong a character you may be, how robust you are in facing adversity, there’s going to come a time when you’re completely overwhelmed; when no matter what you do, you won’t be able to muster the strength you so desperately need.
Ephesians 3:16-17 I ask the Father with his great glory to give you the power to be strong in your spirits. He will give you that strength through his Spirit. I pray that Christ will live in your hearts because of your faith. I pray that your life will be strong in love and be built on love.
It turns out that true strength, is an inside job. It happens when we put our trust in Jesus; when God fills us with His Spirit; when the very power of God fills us to overflowing, no matter what life hurls at us. So …
I pray that your life will be strong in love and be built on love.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
