When Christ Comes Again

1 John 3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God. We have not yet been shown what we will be in the future. But we know that when Christ comes again, we will be like him. We will see him just as he is.

One of the truly frustrating things about life is that when you commit to something – a marriage, a course of study, a career, whatever – you just don’t know how it’s going to turn out. You’ve had that too, right?

I remember almost exactly twenty years ago committing to the ministry of Christianityworks, that brings you these daily Fresh messages. It was a crazy choice, really. The ministry was in its final death throws, almost time to turn off the life support.

But something compelled me to step up. Man, there have been times when we didn’t know if the whole thing would survive; when, honestly, I asked myself (and God), “What was I thinking? What am I doing here? Did I hear God right?”

And it’s that sort of uncertainty that plagues many a person who at some point decided to believe in God – whatever that looks like. He promises so many blessings, yet life’s such a struggle.

You try to live your best life, but the things the world throws at you threaten to bring you down. Other times, you find yourself wandering aimlessly through life, wondering if God’s even real. How’s this whole thing going to play out?

If that’s you, then listen dear friend, because …

1 John 3:2now we are children of God. We have not yet been shown what we will be in the future. But we know that when Christ comes again, we will be like him. We will see him just as he is.

That’s how it’s going to play out.

Because that’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
