Whom Does the Lord Save?
Psalms 37:39,40 The LORD saves those who are good. When they have troubles, he is their strength. The LORD helps good people and rescues them. They depend on him, so he rescues them from the wicked.v
When you find yourself in hot water, which of course happens from time to time, how confident are you, on a scale of zero to ten, that the Lord will step in to save you? And why exactly did you give yourself that score?
It can be a troubling question, canāt it? Iām in deep trouble, Iām in hot water, and I donāt know the way out. And not just that ā¦ things are going from bad to worse. At what point will God step in to pull me out of this mess? Will He step in at all?
Well the answer is āthat dependsā. It depends rather a lot, actually, on you.
Psalms 37:39,40 The LORD saves those who are good. When they have troubles, he is their strength. The LORD helps good people and rescues them. They depend on him, so he rescues them from the wicked.
As much as neither you nor I would like to admit it, sometimes we find ourselves in hot water because ā letās be honest here ā we done bad! Amen?
And if thatās the case, we can easily become despondent in the realisation that itās our fault, we deserve whatās coming to us, and thereās no way that Godās going to step in to pull us out.
Of course, like any good father, Heās likely to let us live through the consequences of our ābadā because thatās how we learn. But He also loves us more than any good father on this planet.
The LORD saves those who are good. When they have troubles, he is their strength. The LORD helps good people and rescues them. They depend on him, so he rescues them from the wicked.
Itās never too late to start doing good.
Thatās Godās Word. Fresh ā¦ for you ā¦ today.
