You Have Been Blessed
1 Corinthians 1:4-6 I always thank my God for you because of the grace that he has given you through Christ Jesus. In him you have been blessed in every way. You have been blessed in all your speaking and all your knowledge. This proves that what we told you about Christ is true.
Let’s be honest. There are days when things just don’t seem to be going our way … at all. Other people are doing just fine. Other people seem to be blessed in their lives, their marriages, their finances, whatever. But me? Oh no, not me!
Look, sure … to some extent we all have the occasional pity party. It’s only natural to be down some days. That’s fine, I guess – unless it goes on for far too long, unless we’re constantly down in the mouth, moping around, grumping at those around us. Nothing good ever happens to me!
When you get into that frame of mind, it’s usually because circumstances bear down on you like a dark cloud and crowd in on you like a thick fog, obscuring the sun that in truth, is still there, still shining.
So perhaps today it might be timely to turn our hearts toward the truth, toward the Light that shines for us through every situation, every circumstance:

God’s grace toward you through Jesus – if you’ve indeed put your trust in Him – never wavers. It never fades. It’s not here today while the going’s good and gone tomorrow when the going gets tough.
And in Him, you have been blessed in every way. In which way? In every way. In all your speaking, in all your knowledge … in every way.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
