Your Contribution to Peace

Titus 2:1-5 You, however, must tell everyone how to live in a way that agrees with the true teaching. Teach the older men to have self-control, to be serious, and to be wise. They must be strong in faith, in love, and in patience. Also, teach the older women to live the way those who serve the Lord should live. They should not go around saying bad things about others or be in the habit of drinking too much. They should teach what is good. By doing this they will teach the younger women to love their husbands and children. They will teach them to be wise and pure, to take care of their homes, to be kind, and to be willing to serve their husbands. Then no one will be able to criticize the teaching God gave us.

Question: how do wars end? Answer: after a protracted conflict with more casualties than either side would have liked, the parties come to the table to negotiate a peace. The point is, peace doesn’t just happen.

There are so many battles being fought in society today – gender politics, left versus right, rich versus poor, black versus white. And not just in society … in our lives, our families, right where we live.

Why? Honestly, because we’ve strayed from simple common sense, from godly wisdom, because we think we know better. So, here’s some common sense … from God Himself.

Okay, times may have changed, but young or old, we each have our role in bringing peace to our families, our friends, our community. Granted, that’s not easy. It takes effort, it takes sacrifice, it takes wisdom. But peace doesn’t just happen. Play your part.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
