All for Jesus

Colossians 3:17 Everything you say and everything you do should be done for Jesus your Lord. And in all you do, give thanks to God the Father through Jesus.

No matter who you are, where you live. or what your circumstances may be, there are always going to be some things that you just don’t want to do. And the more of those you have, the harder life gets.

Some people have jobs they hate. Some people are in marriages they hate. Some people … well, you get the drift. And even if, overall, your situation is pretty agreeable, there are still going to be some things about your life that you just don’t enjoy.

If you believe in Jesus – as do I – what do you do with the disagreeable bits in your life? How do you handle them in a way that brings glory to God? Because if you’re serious about following Jesus, if honouring Him, pleasing Him, glorifying Him is your number one priority, then that’s what you should be asking.

How do I honour God through the yucky bits in life?

Colossians 3:17 Everything you say and everything you do should be done for Jesus your Lord. And in all you do, give thanks to God the Father through Jesus.

The answer’s pretty straightforward: do it all for Jesus. That difficult person who demeans you? Stand strong and love them with the love with which Christ loved you when you turned your back on Him. That job you detest? Go look for new opportunities, go above and beyond every day to shine the light of Christ’s love into those people’s lives.

Let’s get a revelation: life’s never going to be perfect. So …

Everything you say and everything you do should be done for Jesus your Lord. And in all you do, give thanks to God the Father through Jesus.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
