Beyond Imagining

1 Corinthians 2:9,12 But as the Scriptures say, “No one has ever seen, no one has ever heard, no one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” ... We received the Spirit that is from God, not the spirit of the world. We received God’s Spirit so that we can know all that God has given us.

Do you find yourself sometimes scurrying around doing all the things you have to get done? And there comes a point in all of that where the joy that you once felt seems to have evaporated.

It’s a great paradox of physics that when a sponge is bone dry, what it needs most is some water to make it effective again, enabling it to fulfill its purpose.

But you and I have both tried to wipe up a spill with a dry sponge and discovered yet again, that it’s completely ineffective. Only a thorough drenching and a good squeeze will do, to restore it back into a useful, effective sponge.

Well, maybe you’re in need of a thorough drenching and a good squeeze today, to restore that joy unspeakable back into your heart. So, here it is:

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as the Scriptures say, “No one has ever seen, no one has ever heard, no one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”

The Apostle Paul goes on to say that even the great leaders of the world didn’t “get it”. That’s why they crucified Jesus. But …

1 Corinthians 2:12 We received the Spirit that is from God, not the spirit of the world. We received God’s Spirit so that we can know all that God has given us.

And in Christ, God’s already prepared unimaginable blessings for you … here and for eternity. So let the Holy Spirit drench you today. Allow the Word of God to squeeze you today.

Because the good things He has in store for you – even when the world seems decidedly cruddy – are beyond anything we can ever imagine.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
