Guys and Girls

Proverbs 5:3-6 Now, another man's wife might be very charming, and the words from her lips so sweet and inviting. But in the end, she will bring only bitterness and pain. It will be like bitter poison and a sharp sword. She is on a path leading to death, and she will lead you straight to the grave. Don't follow her. She has lost her way and does not even know it. Be careful. Stay on the road that leads to life.

These days loose living, hopping into bed with anyone you please, even cheating on a spouse, have become valid lifestyle choices. And sadly, those choices are tearing lives apart.

For most people in society today, the Christian perspective on sexuality is, to put it bluntly, old-fashioned, irrelevant and prudish. No sex before marriage? Come on! A little bit on the side, you know … what’s the matter with you?! Christians! Really!!

Allow me to share some statistics with you because the facts about marital infidelity are astounding. Polls in the US show that although 90 per cent of married people disapprove of extramarital affairs, 15 per cent of wives and 25 per cent of husbands have experienced extramarital sex. A further 20 per cent have had emotional affairs and relationships without the sex. So up to 35 per cent of married women and 45 per cent of married men have had an extra-marital affair. That’s frightening!

A marriage is supposed to be the most wonderful, fulfilling relationship between lifelong soul mates. And yet almost half of all men and over a third of all women have had some sort of an affair. That blows me away. And yet, there’s nothing new under the sun.

Proverbs 5:3-6 Now, another man’s wife might be very charming, and the words from her lips so sweet and inviting. But in the end, she will bring only bitterness and pain. It will be like bitter poison and a sharp sword. She is on a path leading to death, and she will lead you straight to the grave. Don’t follow her. She has lost her way and does not even know it. Be careful. Stay on the road that leads to life.

Listen to me, those of you who are married. Don’t stray from your marriage, however seductive an affair may seem. Because it will lead to your destruction.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

It’s obedient and rewarding to be faithful to one’s spouse and to resist the temptation of premarital sex. It’s destructive here on earth and will lead one to hell.

Hi Berni. Spot on bro. You might back that up with the account of Abraham’s wife being desired by the king and how God warned him personally. Excellent presentation. Thanks for all you do and to Jesus for empowering you.
