Have You Been Cruising Through Life?

Revelation 3:3 So don’t forget what you have received and heard. Obey it. Change your hearts and lives! You must wake up, or I will come to you and surprise you like a thief. You will not know when I will come.

Cruising has become the vacation of choice for many. In fact, over 30 million people around the world went cruising last year, a number that’s set to rise to 40 million within three years.

And no wonder it’s so popular. A luxurious, all-inclusive break from the rat race; you unpack once and arrive in a different port each day. Eat, drink and be merry. What’s not to like?

I recently came across the First Class dinner menu for the RMS Titanic on the evening of April 14, 1912. Oysters, consommé, filet mignon, perhaps roast duckling with apple sauce … all washed down, no doubt, with the finest of French wines.

It was right in the middle of that dinner that she struck an iceberg. Just a few hours later, the allegedly unsinkable Titanic broke in two and sank twelve and a half thousand feet to the ocean floor.

These folk were living the finest life imaginable on an unsinkable ship, yet like a thief in the night that iceberg robbed more than 1,500 people of life itself.

Revelation 3:3 So don’t forget what you have received and heard. Obey it. Change your hearts and lives! You must wake up, or I will come to you and surprise you like a thief. You will not know when I will come.

No matter how fine life seems, how safe and secure it appears, your end, my end, will come just like that. Are you ready?

Wake up. Put your trust in Jesus who died and rose again for you. Change your heart and your life because you simply don’t know when the end will come.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
