How Amazing is Grace?!

2 Corinthians 12:9 But the Lord said, “My grace is all you need. Only when you are weak can everything be done completely by my power.” So I will gladly boast about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can stay in me.

Theology’s great – I have to say that, I’m a preacher! No seriously, it is – but you know, deep down in our hearts as we yearn for love and acceptance, theological answers by and large aren’t what we’re looking for, would you agree?

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I’m found, was blind but now I see. It’s a great old hymn isn’t it?!

But think about it: what is it that’s so amazing about grace?

Theologians have lots of answers to that question. But when I was lost, when I was blind, when I was on life’s scrap heap, it wasn’t theological answers that I was looking for.

I remember one night, reading through the Gospel of Mark and for the first time it hit me what grace was all about. It’s about a love that blazes so powerfully in the heart of God that He would send His Son to die, take the punishment that I deserved upon Himself, so that I could go free. It’s about this Jesus whose love blazed so strongly that He sought out the wretches, found the lost, touched the lepers, healed the blind and then came after the likes of thee and me.

On that night, God shattered my stained-glass window stereotype of Jesus. That night, I discovered that this amazing grace was for me.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But the Lord said, “My grace is all you need. Only when you are weak can everything be done completely by my power.” So I will gladly boast about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can stay in me.

Whatever you have going on in your life, however much right now you need unconditional love and acceptance, remember this: His grace is all you need.

Amazing. Grace.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

I wonder if I’d told anyone on the computer about the bad health problem I’ve been facing. It was a Sunday when I’d gone to attend a church meeting in the boarding school I was in, on 28-06-1964 where I felt unwell. When two teachers came to ask me what the matter was, I said, “Mam, mam, I’m not feeling – – – , that’s all I could say and fainted for 6 hours. finding myself admitted in a hospital in Chandigarh for 14 days, as I was discharged, I heard the doctor telling my mother, “He’s a guest in the world of about one month only.” Thinking that the doctor’s words were true, I waited for these days to pass, but it has so happed that today, 57 + years have passed that I’m still alive; a graduate, couldn’t do further studied because ever since, I’ve to take 11` pills, all meant for giving me excessive sleep, even these days, I can only thank my Lord who wanted me to remain alive even till now, I don’t know for what, I praise my Lord that even at the age of just 6 days short of 67 in age, He wants me to remain alive. Even though week, still I am strong, ’cause to my Lord I belong; He’s my all in all.
