Jesus is Speaking

Colossians 3:16 Let the teaching of Christ live inside you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

The idea that we might be ignoring God isn’t a pleasant one. But a fact in many a Christian’s life. And it’s a fact that we need to confront, if we’re going to lay hold of the amazing plans and purposes He has for our lives.

If Jesus knocked on your front door this evening and asked to come in for a bit of a chat, would you invite Him in? Would you listen to what He has to say? Probably, right?!

And yet so often we ignore God when He’s speaking to us, when we place a low priority on reading His Word, the Bible, for ourselves; on praying; on listening to Him speak. Do you see the gravity of this? We’re ignoring the God who created the universe … who sent us His Son.

In fact, stop and think about this: the very reason Jesus died on that brutal cross and rose again, is so that we could have a rich, powerful, personal, dynamic, intimate relationship with Him. And we ignore Him, seriously?

Make no mistake about it. God is still speaking. The problem is that a lot of us have stopped listening. So get a revelation today.

Colossians 3:16 Let the teaching of Christ live inside you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

It’s time to start listening to God again. He has the answers to the problems you’re facing right now. He has the encouragement you need to get through your current disappointments.

In fact, God wants to speak His power, His plans and His purposes right into your heart every day.

So how about it? Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Just imagine what that would look like in your life.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
