Love Hopes …

1 Corinthians 13:7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love is the single, most powerful force in the universe. There’s no doubt about that. That’s why such amazing things happen when God’s love flows through us, out into the lost and hurting world around us.

I want to share a Scripture verse today that punches way above its weight. Of course, all scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, reproof, correction and for training in righteousness. But this one packs so much power that it’s incredible.

1 Corinthians 13:7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Just stop and imagine what the world would look like if everyone lived out just that one verse. Nothing else … just that one. Conflict would cease. Wars would cease. Relationships would heal. Marriages would never fall apart. Children would never be abused. No one would be starving.

All … if we just lived out that one verse. I know what you’re thinking: Berni, that’s really nice, but it’s simply not realistic. And you’d probably be right.

But just imagine for a moment how your little corner of the world – your family, your workplace, your community – would change if you lived out just that one little verse; if your love for them bore all their troubles and their failures; if your love constantly, unfailingly believed for good and hoped for good in them and for them; if your love endured everything that they threw at you – every harsh word, every bad thing.

Just imagine the power of that sort of love in you and through you, in them. Mind boggling, isn’t it?

Love is the power to defeat evil, to save, to transform. That’s what God’s love did for us upon that Cross. That’s what His love can still do, through us, for them.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

After a tragic life changing event (my home destroyed by fire). My long term partner and my relationship did not survive the stress.
We hurt each other with suspicion and ugly words. I left, rented a small flat to regain my emotional strength, took a long look at myself.
These beautiful words have given me the strength to meet him with a heart full of love and not hatred.
