Mothers
Proverbs 31:10 How hard it is to find the perfect wife. She is worth far more than jewels.
Over the last few decades, the roles of men and women have changed significantly. And they’re still changing, so much so, that many, are struggling to make sense of it all.
These days, many women go out to work, either part-time or full-time. It wasn’t like that when I was growing up, but nowadays, it seems to be just an economic reality that wives and mothers, go out to work. And yet, at the same time, the research tells us that, they do at least twice as much housework as the average male. Like that’s some kind of surprise, right?
No wonder they end up burned out. No wonder they get sick to death of it. No wonder that most divorces are initiated, these days, by women rather than men.
But God has an amazing plan for the women in our lives. While the men are living out their hunter, gatherer, provider and protector instinct – all good, to a point – somehow, it’s the women, with their gentleness, their emotional intelligence and their more relational side, who are the glue that binds a family together.
If you’re a wife, a mother, listen up. Listen carefully. Please, don’t ever forget how important you are, even when the rest of us don’t perhaps say thank you often enough.
And if you’re a husband, listen up. Listen carefully.
Proverbs 31:10 How hard it is to find the perfect wife. She is worth far more than jewels.
Value your wife, and all she does. Understand, when it all gets a bit much and for goodness sake, pitch in with the housework, with looking after the kids, with all those mundane things, that make a family function. That wife of yours is worth far more than anything you can imagine.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
