My Best for Me

Ephesians 2:10 God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us new people so that we would spend our lives doing the good things he had already planned for us to do.

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Do you see who God made you to be? Do you see what He sees, or are you believing the lies other people have told you about yourself? Hmm?

Too many people’s lives are stunted; too many people allow their potential to be limited, because they have the wrong image of themselves; because they don’t know who they really are in Christ.

All too often, we believe the lies other people have told us about ourselves: you’re no good, you’ll never amount to much, who do you think you are, dreaming big dreams like that?

I don’t think that there’s a person alive today, who can’t point back to some hurtful thing that someone said to them in their past, even in their childhood, that they still remember; that still impacts on how they see themselves today.

It’s time to deal with that, right here and now. Because I believe, no, that’s not right, I know that God has some amazing plans for the year that lies ahead of you. And who are we, to limit God’s plans and purposes, because we have a crummy self-image?!

Ephesians 2:10 God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us new people so that we would spend our lives doing the good things he had already planned for us to do.

Just wrap your heart around that powerful truth. You (yes you!) are God’s workmanship, handcrafted by Him, in Christ, so that you could spend the rest of your life doing the things that He made you to do; the things that He planned for your life before you were even born!

Wow! If you would lay hold of just that one truth, imagine what God could do through you. Imagine the impact He could have in this world through you!

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
