Surrounded by Angels
Psalm 34:7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
People talk about their spirituality in different ways and I guess different people mean different things by that. But if we do believe in “spirituality” then by implication there must be a spiritual dimension to life.
Sometimes, it feels as though God has thrown us to the wolves. They’re coming at us from all sides, tearing into our flesh. And you look up and cry out, “God, where are you?”
We tend only to see and feel things here in the physical realm. We think that our battles are battles of flesh and blood, but actually that’s only part of the story.
The truth is that there’s also a battle raging for your soul right now in the heavenly places. How do I know that? Because that’s what the Bible says.
Ephesians 6:12 Our fight is not against people on earth. We are fighting against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness. We are fighting against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly places
Okay, great, so there’s a battle going on in the spiritual realm. But who’s going to save me down here? Now?
That’s not such an unreasonable question. And to answer that, the Bible also says this:
Psalm 34:7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
That’s got to be good news, right?! I mean think about it. The angel of the Lord, encamped around you, to deliver you. Yeah. That’s good news.
Remember, as well as the physical dimension in which we live, there is also a spiritual dimension. And there is a battle raging in that dimension. God hasn’t left you high and dry.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
