The Ultimate Price
Romans 12:1 So I beg you, brothers and sisters, because of the great mercy God has shown us, offer your lives as a living sacrifice to him—an offering that is only for God and pleasing to him. Considering what he has done, it is only right that you should worship him in this way.
The central message of Christianity – the ‘Good News’ as it’s called – is that Jesus, the Son of God, became a man and died for our sins, so that the price that God’s justice demands would be paid for, and if we believe in this Jesus, we have the gift of eternal life. That’s it.
It’s good news, indeed. In fact, it’s the best news that the human race – that you and I – will ever receive. And if that’s a message that you haven’t yet received, I want to encourage you to wrap your heart around it today, to believe in Jesus with all that you are.
The question is, once you’ve done that, once you’ve put all your eggs in one basket by believing that Jesus is the way, the only way, to the Father, what comes next? Do we just keep living life as we have, business as usual so as to speak? Not at all.
Romans 12:1 So I beg you, brothers and sisters, because of the great mercy God has shown us, offer your lives as a living sacrifice to him—an offering that is only for God and pleasing to him. Considering what he has done, it is only right that you should worship him in this way.
The response God’s calling us to – considering what He’s done for us by sacrificing His all on that Cross – is to do exactly the same thing; to offer our lives as a living sacrifice to Him – an offering that’s only for God and pleasing to Him.
Jesus paid the ultimate price for you. The right response, the only response to that, is to offer your life as a living sacrifice to Him.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
