True Peace
Isaiah 26:3,4 God, you give true peace to people who depend on you, to those who trust in you. So trust the LORD always, because in the LORD you have a place of safety forever.
Peace is something that we all want in our lives: A life free from tension and stress. A life free from insurmountable challenges and threats. A life free from conflict and betrayal. Yep, that would be just perfect. Peace.
But life doesn’t always run that way, does it? There are tensions, threats, battles to be fought. And whilst on one hand, we know that God is a faithful God, I think it’s fair to say that all too often we’re prone to forget that in the heat of battle. Wouldn’t you agree?
Isaiah 26:3,4 God, you give true peace to people who depend on you, to those who trust in you. So trust the LORD always, because in the LORD you have a place of safety forever.
Can I ask you, when the going gets tough, do you depend on God? Do you lean on Him? Do you trust Him enough to know in the very core of your being that He is, indeed, faithful toward you?
It sounds almost presumptuous, doesn’t it, to depend on God; to lean on Him? But that’s precisely what He wants us to do, just as any loving father would want that for his child. I certainly want my children to know that they can come to me anytime, no matter what, and I’ll be there for them. How about you?
And when we depend upon God, here’s the promise from His Word: He will give us true peace. When we lean on God in those difficult situations, He will give us a place of safety forever.
True peace, forever safe in His hands … because in the very centre of who we are, we trusted Him. Peace and safety in the midst of the battle. That’s His promise to you today. That’s His blessing on your life today.
And that’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Indeed, true inner peace is what matters most, if not what all of us desire. Good living and great achievements come when we have true peace and not otherwise. And we can also fully enjoy ourselves when we have that true peace.
