Waiting for a Breakthrough

Galatians 6:9,10 We must not get tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time. We must not give up. When we have the opportunity to do good to anyone, we should do it. But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers.

Waiting on God for a breakthrough, in whatever area of your life in which you need one, can be excruciating. And the greater your need, the more you find your confidence in Him on a roller coaster ride, have you noticed?

Perhaps it’s in the area of your finances, or your health, or the health of a loved one. Perhaps it’s a difficult relationship that seems to be destroying you to the very core. Whatever it is, when you’re in that place, it can indeed be excruciating waiting, wondering … Will God show up? Will He do what I need Him to do?

You asked Him for a breakthrough. As you read of His faithfulness in the Scriptures, His peace descended on your soul. You found you could trust in Him. But then in the middle of the night, you tossed and turned as fear pierced your soul.

The pressure gets to you. You’re headed for a cliff and He hasn’t shown up yet. How do you handle it? What do you do with yourself while you wait?

Galatians 6:9,10 We must not get tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time. We must not give up. When we have the opportunity to do good to anyone, we should do it. But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers.

In other words, while you’re waiting on God right there in the middle of this tough time, get on with it and do what waiters do. Serve, and leave the rest to Him.

When you have the opportunity to do good to anyone, do it.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
