Your Hope of Glory

Colossians 1:27 God decided to let his people know just how rich and glorious that truth is. That secret truth, which is for all people, is that Christ lives in you, his people. He is our hope for glory.

In a world where truth, more and more, is becoming a nefarious concept being twisted, fashioned as it is into weapons that destroy lives, many of us are shying away from even wanting to know the truth. Because knowing the real truth seems less and less of an attainable goal.

Perhaps that sounds a tad pessimistic, but hold onto your hat. It’s about to get much worse. Whilst artificial intelligence will doubtless have many benefits for society, it’ll also be used by bad actors to further erode any notion of there being an objective truth. Deep fake videos – where you can get someone to say something that they never said – will just be the beginning.

But there’s nothing new in that. For years “the news”, which in days gone by was by and large an objective telling of the facts, has been morphing into editorial opinion. There’s precious little news on television, in the press, or online these days doesn’t have some spin, some hidden agenda.

But there’s one truth – one glorious truth – that never changes, that can always be trusted, that will only ever bring you good.

Colossians 1:27 God decided to let his people know just how rich and glorious that truth is. That secret truth, which is for all people, is that Christ lives in you, his people. He is our hope for glory.

Jesus died for you that your sins may be forgiven. He rose again to give you a new life. And if you believe in Him, that secret truth becomes real. If you live for Him, He lives in you.

Christ and Christ alone is your hope for glory.

Now that … that’s a truth worth hanging onto. Because …

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
