Your King Reigns
Psalm 99:1-5 The Lord is King, so let the nations shake with fear. He sits as King above the Cherub angels, so let the whole earth shake. The Lord in Zion is great! He is the great leader over all people. Let all the nations praise your name. Your name is great and awesome. Your name is holy. You are the powerful King who loves justice. You have made things right. You have brought goodness and fairness to Jacob. Praise the Lord our God, and bow down before his footstool, for he is holy.
As you and I interact with all that’s going on in the world the good, the bad and the ugly, one of the things that seems to happen, all too naturally, is that the circumstances we face, the things that confront us, can end up undermining our faith.
Every day there are things that happen that would tear shreds in your faith in Jesus. There are bad people, bad things, terrible things going on that seem to proclaim that God has lost control in this out-of-control world. And not just on a global, geopolitical scale either. It is in our personal lives too – in your life, in my life, things happen that can have you asking yourself:
“Does God realise what’s going on here? Does He even care? And if He does, can He actually make a difference?”
In the face of all that, I’m here to tell you today, that your King reigns.
Secularism, humanism, atheism … and all the other “ism’s” seem to have launched an all-out, full-frontal attack on our faith in the King of kings and the Lord of Lords, have you noticed?
So it’s time for a quick reminder of something.
No matter what you see, what you hear, how much the world seems to be winning … your King reigns.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
