And That’s a Wrap

Isaiah 43:18,19 So don’t remember what happened in earlier times. Don’t think about what happened a long time ago, because I am doing something new! Now you will grow like a new plant. Surely you know this is true. I will even make a road in the desert, and rivers will flow through that dry land.

Here we are, the 31st of December, New Year’s Eve, the last day of this year. Once midnight comes, that’s a wrap. Done, dusted, finished.

And yet, with the year all but over, there are many who’ll allow the hurts and failures of this past year to linger on in their lives into the next year and beyond. Sadly, some of those will be amongst God’s own people, those who believe in Jesus with all their heart.

Perhaps you have something from this past year or further back still – some regret, some self-unforgiveness, some abuse, some loss that grips your soul like a dark, all-consuming cancer. If so, then what you need is supernatural power to set you free; Holy Spirit power to break the chains that bind you. And here it is:

Isaiah 43:18,19 So don’t remember what happened in earlier times. Don’t think about what happened a long time ago, because I am doing something new! Now you will grow like a new plant. Surely you know this is true. I will even make a road in the desert, and rivers will flow through that dry land.

God spoke that Word into the life of Israel at a very dark time of protracted slavery and exile which was His punishment for their idolatry, sin and rebellion.

Listen to me – no, listen to God. By the power of His Spirit, forget the past. Don’t think about what happened. He is doing a new thing … in you and through you. Surely you know this is true, because …

That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
