God is a God of New Beginnings

Psalm 40:1-3 I called to the Lord, and he heard me. He heard my cries. He lifted me out of the grave. He lifted me from that muddy place. He picked me up, put me on solid ground, and kept my feet from slipping. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see what he did and worship him. They will put their trust in the Lord.

Sometimes it seems as though nothing is ever going to change. Nothing is ever going to get better. God clearly hasn’t noticed, or He’s lost the plot. There’s not one of us who hasn’t felt that at some point in our lives … but today … today I have some good news for you.

Life’s mostly full of humdrum, have you noticed? And just when it seems that nothing’s going to change, nothing’s ever going to get better, some joker like me comes along and says:

“Did you know that God is a God of new beginnings?”

“Oh please,” I can hear someone thinking. “Seriously? Nothing’s ever going to change. Nothing’s ever going to get better.”

So in this moment that we have together, I just want to share one thing with you. Whatever’s going on in your life, whatever pain or fear or boredom or loneliness or ache or pain or loss or disappointment … God wants to step into that with you and give you a new beginning.

King David of Israel, who suffered way more than his fair share of all those things, wrote this:

Psalm 40:1-3 I called to the Lord, and he heard me. He heard my cries. He lifted me out of the grave. He lifted me from that muddy place. He picked me up, put me on solid ground, and kept my feet from slipping. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see what he did and worship him. They will put their trust in the Lord.

Listen to me: God is the God who will lift you up, put your feet on solid ground and put a new song, a song of praise, on your heart and on your lips.

Hang in there, believe in Him … wait for Him to act. He is the God of new beginnings.

That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Oh and I loved and enjoyed and read twice maybe 3 times even your life application book titled ON SOLID GROUND.
Your mentioning of how God hears our cries and lifts us out of that grave , that muddy place and places our feet on solid ground just reminded me of your book.
I loved reading about Hannah and her faith and Samuel and his ear that heard.
Thank you Berni Dymet .
you are awesome 💫
