Let Your Hope be in the Lord

Galatians 5:19,20 Christ’s love is greater than anyone can ever know, but I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with everything God has for you. With God’s power working in us, he can do much, much more than anything we can ask or think of.

When you hit rock bottom – something that I’m pretty sure happens to everyone at least once or twice in their lives – the most devastating part of that is the complete loss of hope.

That deep despondency of hopelessness is perhaps the defining symptom of “rock bottom”. When you experience that complete hopelessness you know you’ve arrived, you’ve hit it – “rock bottom”. You can’t even see how you’re going to make it through today, let alone tomorrow, next week, next month, next year.

I know, I’ve been there. Perhaps you have too. It’s in that place that many decide to end it all … What’s the point? How can I go on?

To anyone who’s in that place now, to anyone who may one day find themselves in that place, God has this to say:

Ephesians 3:19,20 Christ’s love is greater than anyone can ever know, but I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with everything God has for you. With God’s power working in us, he can do much, much more than anything we can ask or think of.

The love of God for you through Jesus Christ is completely beyond words. Yet it’s real, it’s here, it’s now, it’s for you. Receive His love into your heart in this moment by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Friend, there is a tomorrow. There is a future. In fact, with the power of God’s love working in you, know this: He can do much, much … much more than anything you can even begin to imagine or ask for.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
