Nothing is Too Hard for Him

Jeremiah 32:15 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards shall again be bought in this land.

You and I need reminding on a regular basis of just how big and powerful God is – because, let me tell you, the things we face in this world have a funny way of diminishing our view of Him.

You know how it goes … you’re facing some big, hairy, insurmountable problem in your life, and the longer it blocks your way, tearing your heart in two, the bigger it seems and the smaller God seems.

Now, we know that’s an illusion. We can reason in our heads that God is omnipotent, much bigger than our worldly problems … but man, believing that in your heart, and seeing your problems from that perspective can be almost impossible.

Judah was under siege. It was a terrible time. But the Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah to go and buy a field in the middle of the siege. Why?

Jeremiah 32:15 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards shall again be bought in this land. (NRSV)

That was one very difficult prophecy to believe. But Jeremiah went on to pray …

Jeremiah 32:17 Lord GOD, with your great power you made the earth and the sky. There is nothing too hard for you to do. (ERV)

And my prayer for you today is that that prophecy, that Word, will embolden your heart today. No matter how impossible things seem, there is nothing too hard for our God to do. He may not do it quite when you’d like, or how you were hoping … His ways aren’t our ways … but He will act.

Lord GOD, with your great power you made the earth and the sky. There is nothing too hard for you to do.

That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
