One Day
Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard my LORD's voice, saying, "Who can I send? Who will go for us?" So I said, "Here I am. Send me!"
You know that old saying, don’t you? Never do today that which you can put off until tomorrow. And frankly, that’s how many people choose to live out their faith.
One day. That’s when I’ll do something for God. One day. That’s when I’ll share my faith with others. One day. Some day.
Because some day, in some far and distant place, God has a job for me to do – an amazing job. But not now, not today. One day …
Then, the days turn into weeks, the weeks into months … the months into years, and before you know it, life’s passed you by. That’s why the “one day” thing just doesn’t cut it. That’s why, when it comes to sharing your faith with others, that maxim of don’t do today, that which you can put off until tomorrow, simply doesn’t cut it!
Sure, we have a future and so often God’s just tucked a call away in our hearts for that future. But let me ask you, what about today? What about the people in your life right now who don’t yet know Jesus? What about them? They’re hurting. They’re aching. And today as God nudges you in their direction, as He so often does, you can make a difference – just listening, helping, sharing our Jesus with them. Come on, there are people dying out there. There are people who need to hear about Jesus out there. Who’ll go to them?
Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard my LORD’s voice, saying, “Who can I send? Who will go for us?” So I said, “Here I am. Send me!”
Be the one who says to the Lord, “Here I am Lord. Send me! Use me!” Not one day. Today, because “one day” … may be too late.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
