Politically Correct

2 Timothy 2:24-26 As a servant of the Lord, you must not argue. You must be kind to everyone. You must be a good teacher, and you must be patient. You must gently teach those who don’t agree with you. Maybe God will let them change their hearts so that they can accept the truth. The devil has trapped them and now makes them do what he wants. But maybe they can wake up to see what is happening and free themselves from the devil’s trap.

When was the last time that you shared the good news of Jesus with someone? It’s not easy is it? People often don’t want to hear. And so what many Christians do, is they stop telling others about Jesus.

It seems to me that our world is suffocating itself with political correctness. It’s like the emperor’s got no clothes. Everybody can see it, but they’re too afraid of saying anything about it.

Now don’t get me wrong. Christians should never be spewing forth hatred and vilification, as some so sadly do. Never. God is, after all, love.

But at the same time, a Christian should never step back from speaking the truth. Never. Because people can only be set free from the sin that’s killing them, when they know the truth. And how will they ever know, if the likes of you and me don’t tell them? But how do you do that, in a world where most people don’t want to hear the truth?

Should we be surprised when we get an angry reaction for sharing the truth? Not at all! Look at what happened to Jesus. They hated Him so much, that they crucified Him for it.

No, we should never be afraid to share the truth in love. Kindly, gently, firmly.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
