The Lord Gives You Power

Ephesians 3:16,17 I ask the Father with his great glory to give you the power to be strong in your spirits. He will give you that strength through his Spirit. I pray that Christ will live in your hearts because of your faith. I pray that your life will be strong in love and be built on love.

Have you ever noticed how some people seem to have a spiritual strength and resolve through the storms and tempests of life, whilst others are tossed to and fro like a helpless cork on the ocean?

We’ve been chatting these last few days about God’s help when those dark days descend upon our lives, as they inevitably do from time to time. But it can be tough for us to get His promises into our hearts when life’s nothing but a struggle.

Because with our emotions all over the place, it’s almost as though they act as an impervious barrier to prevent us from receiving the lifesaving help that God has ready and waiting for us. Perhaps that’s why the Apostle Paul prayed this for his friends:

Ephesians 3:16,17 I ask the Father with his great glory to give you the power to be strong in your spirits. He will give you that strength through his Spirit. I pray that Christ will live in your hearts because of your faith. I pray that your life will be strong in love and be built on love.

What a great prayer! And it’s one that I pray for you today, too; that God would open the windows of heaven and pour His power out over you, so that come what may, you’ll be strong in your spirit. And without doubt, I know that He will give you all the strength you need as He fills you, drenches you with His Holy Spirit.

May our Lord Jesus Christ dwell in your heart by faith. May He make you strong in His love, for His glory!

Because that’s His promise, His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
