When the Wicked Win

Proverbs 10:2 Wealth gained by doing wrong will not really help you, but doing right will save you from death.

Life isn’t always fair. And when we see bad people doing well, the temptation, the real temptation, is to stoop down to their level, and follow their lead.

Have you ever felt like the bad guys are winning? You kind of plug away each day, just doing your best at being a good person. Not perfectly, mind you, but the best you can, under the circumstances. And yet, there are people who are dishonest, selfish, proud or whatever it is, and they seem to be winning. They seem to be getting away with murder”, as the saying goes.

It just doesn’t seem fair and no one else seems either to notice, or to care, or both!

Well, let me tell you how it works. This is God’s perspective, not mine. It comes from His Word, not from me.

Proverbs 10:2 Wealth gained by doing wrong will not really help you, but doing right will save you from death.

Those people who seem to gain wealth through their wickedness, well, in the end, it won’t profit them at all. In the end, they’ll miss out – because in the end, they’ll have to stand before God and explain themselves.

On the other hand, those who live their lives honouring God, just doing the best that they can, those who live their lives for Jesus whom God sent, they’re the ones who will be delivered from death. They’re the ones who’ll get the crown of eternal life. And in the end, that’s what really matters. Because eternity goes on for such an incredibly long time. In the end, that’s what really matters.

The question is, which one of these two types of people are you?

Wealth gained by doing wrong will not really help you, but doing right will save you from death.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
