Why Plans Fail

Proverbs 16:3 Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.

I have a confession to make. Sometimes I can be a bit spiritually thick, a bit of a slow learner if you will. Sometimes what I really want to do is to race out and do stuff, without checking in with God first. How about you?

Have you ever wondered why some of your plans fail? You have this great idea, you step out to make it happen and splat – you fall flat on your face.

There are lots of reasons why plans fail, but one of the most common is that we think we can go it alone. We imagine that because God’s on our side everything will work out fine. He’ll just toddle along behind us and make it all happen because we thought it was a good idea.

The mistake in that is that you’re turning the Creator-creature relationship on its head. Rather than checking in first with God to see what His plans are – to see whether our plan fits into His – we simply expect God to dance to our tune.

You don’t have to be a genius to figure out that God doesn’t work that way.

Proverbs 16:3 Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.

It’s so easy just to race out and do stuff. It’s a temptation that confronts me on a daily basis, because I’m the sort of person who wants to race out and do stuff.

But when you commit your plan to God first, if it’s a bad idea, if He has a better idea, if He has a completely different plan altogether, He’ll soon tell you. On the other hand, if it’s a good idea, if it’s part of His plan, He’ll be right in there with you.

Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Dear Mr. Dymet, greetings, Sir. For a while I always thought that your surname is Diamond, until I was able to see and discover your site and it turned out to be Dymet But in a way, you are a diamond — multi-faceted; from the day you graduated from your great country’s military academy (I was able to hear through the radio then that you almost did not graduate because the burden or the weight required of all cadets was lacking when you made your trek) to your success as an entrepreneur in the computer industry, to the time you stood at the edge and now that you are reaching to millions and millions around the world and bringing the WORD OF GOD. You are a rare find, a unique individual giving pearls of great price. From the very start when, I too was struggling to find my worth which was lost when I was unjustifiably booted out of my life’s work until now when GOD has brought back to me double of what I had lost, your voice has always been with me; GOD’s words clear and in a simple language, pervading my hearing, my thoughts and giving me something to believe in day by day. AND NOW, I read again Proverbs 16:3! It pertains to me, Sir Dymet and it hits me bull’s eye. Thank you, Sir for giving me and many the reason to believe in the promises of our Mighty GOD. Thank you, Sir, from the bottom of my heart.

I am grateful to God for allowing me to learn His Word through ‘Fresh’. I am aware of why I failed in many plans.

It’s simple:

Although am a born again Christian I had never sat down to hear from God before making any decision.

Whenever I would hear of any business idea, I would become excited and make a decision.

Oh God help me to start afresh, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.
