Your Home Forever

Psalm 90:1,2 My Lord, you have been our home forever and ever. You were God before the mountains were born, before the earth and the world were made. You have always been and will always be God!

Well, that’s it. Christmas is done and dusted, over for another year. But as you recover from all the hoopla, the food and the drink, there’s something I’d like to share with you.

Celebrations, public holidays, seasons … they each come and go. There’s this kind of inexorable cycle to life. One that we’ve become so accustomed to, that we don’t even think about it all that much.

But how many more Christmases do you have left on this earth? God only knows. And then what? How many Christmases do you have left in eternity? The answer is, rather a lot. In fact an infinite number of them because your eternity will never end, wherever you may be spending it.

Christmas wasn’t simply about the family celebration, the presents and all that stuff. It was about eternity, yours and mine.

Psalm 90:1,2 My Lord, you have been our home forever and ever. You were God before the mountains were born, before the earth and the world were made. You have always been and will always be God!

Being “a Christian” isn’t merely a case of giving intellectual ascent to a proposition – you know, “Sure, I believe in Jesus”, tick in the box, card punched, into heaven.

It’s about making God your home forever and ever, starting here and now. Starting by living your life for Him. Yes, Christmas can be a great celebration. But it doesn’t end there. It’s just the beginning.

Jesus came to save you from your sin. He came to give you a new, rich, abundant life, no matter what suffering you may have to endure. And He came to give you an eternal life.

Make the Jesus the Lord of your life. Make Him your home for ever and ever.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
