Be Washed in the Spirit

Titus 3:5-7 He saved us because of his mercy, not because of any good things we did. He saved us through the washing that made us new people. He saved us by making us new through the Holy Spirit. God poured out to us that Holy Spirit fully through Jesus Christ our Saviour. We were made right with God by his grace. God saved us so that we could be his children and look forward to receiving life that never ends.

It’s strange that whilst we wash our clothes as they become soiled through daily wear, many ignore the cleansing of their soul which is equally soiled through daily living in a corrupt, sinful world.

That may sound a tad dramatic, but in truth there’s an opaque veil that hangs over many a heart, obscuring the devastating sin that lies within; the attitudes, the bigotry, the selfishness, the lust for the things of this world, that we ignore at our peril.

Oh, the symptoms of these diseases are to be seen all around – in the emptiness, the purposelessness, the emotional maladies, the broken relationships, the devastated lives that are more akin to the living dead than they are to the abundant life that Jesus came to give us. Honestly, how many of these symptoms are evident in your life?

Titus 3:5-7 He saved us because of his mercy, not because of any good things we did. He saved us through the washing that made us new people. He saved us by making us new through the Holy Spirit. God poured out to us that Holy Spirit fully through Jesus Christ our Saviour. We were made right with God by his grace. God saved us so that we could be his children and look forward to receiving life that never ends.

Friend, Jesus came to save you. He came to get in under that veil to treat the disease, to wash you clean, to make you new, to pour His life-changing Holy Spirit out on you to fill you to overflowing. Jesus came for you.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
