Hidden in Something Greater
Colossians 3:3-4 Your old self has died, and your new life is kept with Christ in God. Yes, Christ is now your life, and when he comes again, you will share in his glory.
Have you thought to yourself – there has to be more to life than this? You chase after the things you’ve been told to chase after – success, relationships, comfort … but even when you get them, something’s still missing. It’s like being alive, but not really alive.
That was my life to a tee. I studied hard, worked hard, and in my early to mid-thirties I was well on my way to achieving at least some of what I thought was worth achieving. But each time one of those things dropped in my lap, they felt emptier and emptier.
Back in the day, there was a man named Saul who felt that way too. He had status, education, and power – until one encounter changed everything. On a dusty road to Damascus, he met Jesus.
The old Saul died that day, and a new man – Paul – was born, not physically, but spiritually. His life, his values, his purpose were completely transformed.
He later wrote this explanation of what happened to him– and what can happen to anyone who meets Jesus:
Colossians 3:3-4 Your old self has died, and your new life is kept with Christ in God. Yes, Christ is now your life, and when he comes again, you will share in his glory.
Paul wasn’t talking about religion; he was talking about rebirth – the kind that changes you from the inside out. Because when you put your life into God’s hands, the old you – weighed down by guilt, fear, and striving – fades away. And in its place, something stronger, freer, and eternal begins.
So if you’ve been longing for a fresh start, hear this: the life you were made for is hidden in Christ. And it’s waiting – right now – to begin.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
