Soaked, Shivering … and Found

Luke 15:4 Suppose one of you has 100 sheep, but one of them gets lost. What will you do? You will leave the other 99 sheep there in the field and go out and look for the lost sheep. You will continue to search for it until you find it.

You’ve wandered too far. The path you thought you knew has disappeared beneath the mud. The storm’s rolled in, the rain cuts cold against your skin, and the night feels endless. You call out – but no one answers. Somewhere deep down, you wonder if anyone even knows where you are anymore.

That’s how life feels sometimes, isn’t it? You didn’t mean to drift. A careless step, another bad decision, one disappointment too many – and before you know it, you’ve lost your bearings. You keep moving, hoping the storm will break, but it doesn’t. And all the while, a quiet voice inside you whispers, Maybe God’s given up on me.

Now picture this: a little lamb, drenched and trembling in the forest, caught in the thorns. Every sound feels like danger. Then, through the rain, faint footsteps – steady, certain, closing in.

The Shepherd has come. He doesn’t shout in anger or drive it home with a stick. He stoops down, lifts the muddy creature into His arms, and carries it home rejoicing. Jesus once said:

Luke 15:4 Suppose one of you has 100 sheep, but one of them gets lost. What will you do? You will leave the other 99 sheep there in the field and go out and look for the lost sheep. You will continue to search for it until you find it.

Friend, that one lost sheep, that’s you. Your absence hasn’t escaped the Shepherd’s attention. He hasn’t given up. In His heart, He knows what His one lost sheep is going through. And even now, through your storm, He’s coming for you – gently, faithfully, and full of joy; knowing that He alone can save you.

Don’t despair. He’s on His way.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
