Favour Still Needs Faith
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust the LORD completely, and don’t depend on your own knowledge. With every step you take, think about what he wants, and he will help you go the right way.
You can have all the access, all the influence, all the open doors that the world can offer – and yet still desperately need God. Because favour without prayer is merely opportunity without power.
Centuries ago, a young Jewish woman named Esther found herself living in a palace in ancient Persia. The king – the most powerful man in the world at that time – had chosen her to be his queen. From the outside, it looked like she’d made it. She had position, wealth, and royal favour.
But when a cruel plot was hatched to wipe out her entire people, Esther realised that her privilege alone wasn’t enough to save them.
She had one chance to plead for mercy – to walk into the king’s throne room uninvited, a move that could have cost her, her life. So before she took that step, she didn’t rely merely on her beauty, her status, or her charm. She asked her people to fast and pray for three days.
Because Esther knew something we so easily forget: having access to power doesn’t replace dependence on God.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust the LORD completely, and don’t depend on your own knowledge. With every step you take, think about what he wants, and he will help you go the right way.
No matter how far you’ve come or how confident you feel, you still need God in every conversation, in every decision, in every room you walk into.
Favour may open the door – but prayer invites God to walk through it with you.
Honour God first, invite Him to take the lead … and He will help you to go the right way.
That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
